Turn property gains into community impact and get a tax deduction while paying no capital gains tax. Appreciated real property (such as your home, vacation property, vacant land, farmland, or commercial property) can make a great gift to the Community Foundation. We work with you and your legal and tax advisors to help fulfill your charitable goals while providing maximum tax benefits.
The value of your real estate may exceed that of any other asset you own. Use it to establish or contribute to a fund at the Community Foundation; you can fulfill charitable interests and receive tax benefits. Real estate, if held for more than one year, usually provides the same tax benefits as gifts of security. See our real estate checklist.
Gifts of real estate or personal property must be approved in advance by the Community Foundation's Board of Governors. Email President Bob Fockler or call him at (901) 722-0045 if you are considering such a gift.
